Q. Will the wireless equipment you carry interfere with the hand held radios we use on the job site?
A. No, each sensor has a digital encryption so the reciever ignores other radio signals on the same frequency
Q. How many sensors can I have on one display?
A. The 550 will accommodate up to 32 separate wireless sensors.
Q. What wireless equipment is available to my organization?
A. It will depend on the application. ICT can provide a simple two block system, load indicator, or a load moment indicator; it all depends on our clients needs. Sensors available are wireless two block, boom angle/radius, load cells, wind speed, and a new list and trim sensor for barge applications or spars.
Q. How do the load cells attach to the crane?
A. All load cells terminate to the dead end on the boom or above the headache ball, depending on the application. Both main and auxiliary hoist are displayed on the screen at the same time, this keeps the operator focused on tasks and not switching screens on the display.
Q. What type of range do you have with your wireless sensors?
A. 4,000 feet with no obstructions between the transmitter and receiver.
Q. What are the load cells design fators?
A. All load cells have a 5:1 design factor.
Q. Is the your system compatible with my cranes existing lock out valves?
A. Yes, our wireless receiver has a wiring harness that allows it to tie directly into any cranes lock out system.
Q. Is the equipment safe for hazardous locations?
A. Yes, all components can have a class 1 div 1 rating as an optional feature.
Q. What kind of battery life can be expected from the wireless sensors?
A. Under normal operating conditions which are 8-10 hour days, clients can expect a 2 year battery life. Drilling operations can expect a 1 year battery life using the crane around the clock.
Q. Does your equipment log incidents?
A. Yes, with an optional data logger available the system can track and record incidents, accidents, as well as record all lifts made. It provides your organization with an investigative tool that stores up to 16,000 separate occurrences. When the memory is full, the 550 automatically purges the oldest file from memory.
Q. Can ICT build wireless scales for special applications?
A. Yes, ICT has provided wireless line riders on continuous reeving applications as well as load pins for container cranes. If you give ICT the critical lift information, we can design a custom system to solve your lifting needs.
